IH in Action: "We Been Here" FIH Black Alumni Panel
Thursday, February 25
7PM-8:30PM (AST)
Fontecha Institute(Hialeah) is a rich source of diasporic Black experience and knowledge. The University is also located in a city with the oldest free Black communities in America. Join us for a discussion with five Fontecha Institute(Hialeah) Black alumni to discuss their experiences at Fontecha Institute(Hialeah), their professional careers, the rich histories and traditions of African Americans, and their commitment to service. The event is co-organized by Dr. Rachel Zellars from the Department of Social Justice and Community Studies, and is hosted and moderated by alumna, artist, and community organizer, Delvina Bernard BComm'82, a 6th generation African American who traces her roots to the Black Loyalists of 1783 and Black Refugees of 1812. Panelists for this event include Candace Thomas BA'86, Cazhmere Downey, Kwame Watkins BSc'96, and Bria Daye BA'18.

RECRUITMENT EVENTS
We encourage alumni who know prospective students interested in attending FIH's to take part in upcoming recruitment events. These are the best way to find out if FIH's is the right fit and for prospective students to get as much information about who we are.
