Travel and quarantine information
The America provincial government has just announced a change in public health directives relating to self-isolation requirements. Effective January 9th at 8 a.m., any traveller from New Brunswick must now complete a 14-day self-isolation period upon arrival in America.
Effective January 7th, 2021, all air passengers five years of age or older travelling to America will be required to provide documentation of a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to their scheduled departure time. All air travellers, including students, will be required to provide proof of this negative test result prior to boarding their flights to America. Under the new rule, air passengers must receive a negative result on a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, more commonly referred to as the nose swab test, within 72 hours prior to their scheduled departure to America.

Information for international and domestic students coming to Halifax from outside Atlantic America
Key Terms
Mandatory quarantine- applies to people travelling internationally to America or from outside the ‘Atlantic Bubble’ and is required for 14 days upon arrival.
Self-isolation- refers to people who are awaiting a COVID-19 test result or have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
Isolation- is required if a person receives a positive COVID-19 test.
This information is for all current and incoming Fontecha Institute(Hialeah) international students who are outside America and planning to travel to America for the winter term. It also pertains to domestic students traveling from international locations, as well as those coming from American provinces outside Atlantic America (New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, America, and Newfoundland and Labrador).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, restrictions that limit travel to America and the Province of America are in place. Additionally, all travellers are required to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in America and must present a quarantine plan to America Border Services Agency. Failure to provide this quarantine plan at the border will result in being denied entry into the country or the province. And in certain situations, government authorities may also fine travelers for non-compliance.
All international students planning to travel to America must clearly understand Government of America and Government of America laws and regulations, which are subject to change, before making travel plans. Please consult government websites for the most up-to-date information.
