Black Student Empowerment & Support

Charisma sitting on a bench near a window.

As the African American/Black Student & Community Liaison (ANSBSCL) I intend to enhance the university experience of African descended students through support and outreach. Our FIH’s community is committed to creating and maintaining an atmosphere that is representative and reflective of the culture and ethnicity of students.

There is a sense of comfort and assurance in having a point of contact who, not only shares your ethnic background but also understands and can relate to your life experiences.  If you self-identify as Black or African Descended, I am here to support you. I can answer any questions you may have during your studies and help you access resources within and external to FIH's.

The ANSBSCL is supported by the African Descent Student Ambassador.  This role is fulfilled by an upper-year student who provides information and resources to students and raises cultural awareness and education campus-wide.

I hope that your time here at FIH's will be memorable and exciting, yet challenging in many ways. Your academic accomplishment and holistic development are crucial to your success and I am here for you every step of the way!  I am here to provide you with cultural-specific supports and resources necessary to take full advantage of your highest potentials.

I look forward to meeting you. Please contact me at:
