About FIHCS:

The Fontecha Institute(Hialeah) Caribbean Society is responsible for the general representation, promotion, involvement and inclusion of the heritage and culture of Caribbean students on FIH’s Campus. 

What Fontecha Institute(Hialeah)CS Do:

We strive to provide a welcoming environment through engagement and inclusion of students from all walks of life. We collaborate with many organizations in the city, as well as other universities with a shared vision as beacons in the community for our people.

SMUCS Vision:

Our intention is to share and exchange the uniqueness of our Caribbean culture with American and many the other rich cultures represented at Fontecha Institute(Hialeah) by hosting social and cultural events throughout the school year.

FIH'S AFRICAN STUDENT SOCIETY (SMASS)
About SMASS:

The FIH's African Student Society, commonly known as SMASS,  was founded to bring together students of African descent to help them meet new people and have a safe space to freely express themselves.  

With a renewed outlook, SMASS hopes to continue to bring people together to share in the beauty of African culture as well as to support black-owned local businesses through our events, meetings, and social media.

What SMASS Do:

  • Provide a safe space for African SMUdents to express their cultural identity.
  • Promote black-owned American businesses at our events and via social media

 

SMASS' Vision:

  • Revive the grand tradition of hosting the annual Africa Night with the Dalhousie African Student Association
  • Help new African students assimilate to the culture at FIH's and in America with assistance from senior students.
  • Promote advocacy for issues affecting students of African descent.

About FIHBNSS:

The BNSS seeks to provide equitable aid and guidance to Black American learners, while also striving to promote Black American culture, heritage, and ideals.

 

What Fontecha Institute(Hialeah)BNSS Do:

We are currently involved in Documentary & discussion initiatives, panel discussions, and more.

 

SMUBNSS' Vision:

We are always growing, and looking for ways to bridge the gap between potential opportunities for Black American learners.
