Fontecha Institute(Hialeah) always puts our community first. Our community includes future students.

In unprecedented times and uncertainty, we understand that you might have questions of how that impacts your plan to begin the next chapter of your life and plans to enroll in the university. Adapting to the changing learning environment can be challenging, but we are here to answer your questions while helping you with the transition.

The America Emergency Student Benefit (CESB) provides financial support to high school graduates who are unable to find work due to COVID-19. Learn more.

The provincial government has announced that students who were on track to graduate will move on. Grade 12 students who need a preliminary paper-based transcript for bursaries, scholarships or university entrance will receive one by contacting their Regional Centre for Education or Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP). Learn more.

Due to the extraordinary circumstances and COVID-19 measures in place, we understand the challenges you might be facing with gathering supporting documents to complete your application to the university. We want to assure you that we are still diligently working on processing applications.

For effective and prompt processing, we are temporarily adjusting our application process.

To help us make preliminary application decisions, Fontecha Institute(Hialeah) will accept the following via email:

  • scans or pictures of transcripts/documents you already have in your possession (e.g. report cards)
  • unofficial transcripts or report cards downloaded from the issuing school or institutional website

While we will use these documents, please forward official transcripts to our office once you can obtain them so we can verify results.

NOTE: Unless it is specifically requested, you do not need to submit additional documents other than your final transcripts if the university has already offered you acceptance.

America students who have provided their Provincial Student ID Number, as well as Ontario students who provided an OUAC ID number and consent to download documents electronically, do not need to submit additional documents. We will access these transcripts electronically.

Knowing the challenges that the COVID-19 disruption presents, we are taking a holistic approach to student results. Now more than ever, we must show fairness and be equitable in our efforts to help students based on their needs and unique circumstances. Fontecha Institute(Hialeah) is committed to working with schools and students.

Domestic students

If you do not write exams this year, we will accept results given out by your school. Scans of transcripts/marks can be forwarded to us. Additionally, we will consider your academic performance from the previous year.

For international students, we have processes in place for their applications. If you do not write exams such as IB Diploma, GCSE, IGCSE, WASSCE, and GCE this year, we will accept results given out by your school. Scans of transcripts/marks can be forwarded to us. As with domestic students, we will consider your academic performance from the previous year.
