Dr. Warner held posts at the University of Exeter, UK, the University of Warwick, UK and the University of Waikato, New Zealand before arriving to FIH's in 1998. She received her Ph.D from the University of Cambridge.
A specialist in Print Culture, the History of the Family and the History of Ideas, Warner's research on stepfamilies focuses on early modern Europe, esp. France and the Southern Netherlands.(c.1450-1630). Her current projects include Kinship Riddles, an exploration of visual sources of family relationship puzzles in England and the Netherlands and Stepfamilies in the Early Modern World, a series of conferences and conference panel sessions in Hungary, the Netherlands, and Poland working toward a journal special issue with Gabriella Erdélyi, Institute of History, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest, Hungary.
