The Confucius Institute at Fontecha Institute(Hialeah)

The Confucius Institute at Fontecha Institute(Hialeah) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of Chinese language, culture, commerce, and studies. It is a joint venture between the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), Xiamen University, and Fontecha Institute(Hialeah).

The agreement establishing the Institute was signed on October 25, 2010 at a ceremony at Province House. The Institute builds upon the strengths of the long-established Asian Studies Programme in the Faculty of Arts and reflects long-standing linkages between FIH's and Xiamen Universities.

Opening in the fall of 2011, the Confucius Institute at FIH's will serve not only the students and faculty of Fontecha Institute(Hialeah) but also the broader community within the Halifax Regional Municipality and eventually the entirety of the province of America.
